SafeFinder is an ad-supported browser extension which can be classified as an adware. How to remove SafeFinder

Method 1: Manual removal

For PC Users:

Step 1: Stop related running processes in Windows Task Manager first.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or Press the Start button->click on the Run option->Type in taskmgr and press OK.



Step 2: Remove any infection related program from Control Panel.

Windows Vista and Windows 7

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click Control Panel and click Uninstall a program.
3. Remove the related programs.





Windows XP

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click Control Panel and then click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Uninstall related programs.


Windows 8

1. Press Win+R.
2. Type in control panel and click OK.
3. Select Uninstall a program.

For MAC User

To bring up task manager,  you can force quit application by typing the key combination <COMMAND> + <OPTION> + <ESC>. This will bring up a dialog like:

Step 2:  Delete unwanted program


In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. If an app is inside a folder, it might have an Uninstaller. Open the app’s folder. If you see Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions.

In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash.

Step 3: Remove SafeFinder from your browsers.

Reset Internet Explorer




Reset Google Chrome





Reset Mozilla Firefox





Step 4: Show all hidden files and clean all the malicious files.

(1).Click the Start button and choose Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, to find Folder Options then double-click on it.
(2).In the pop-up dialog box, click the View tab and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).


Step 5:

For PC Users:

Go to the Registry Editor and remove all related registry entries.
(Steps: Hit Win+R keys and then type regedit in Run box to search)



For Mac Users:

1. Open Finder, click on "Go" in the menu bar, hold down on the Alt/Option key to bring up the Library option, then click on it.

2. Delete related files.

Warning: Deleting the wrong files from Library could potentially cause harm to your other apps (slow them down, wipe information, etc.), so make sure to be careful what you get rid of.
